MISSION:
Mamoyo Foundation - Women & Youth Initiative: Mini Farms & Nurseries is a project dedicated to improving the empowerment, nutrition, educational attainment, welfare, & opportunities for youth plus women in Zimbabwe. Also aiding reforestation.
OVERALL GOALS:

provide classes in hands-on small scale farming to actually running a profitable farm produce business. They will eventually run their own farm plots in franchise format supplying our other projects, our members & the public
provide a template from which they can copy & improve.
HISTORY:
Mamoyo Foundation - Women & Youth Initiative: Mini Farms & Nurseries was formed in 2017after a need for organic produce was created through Mamoyo Retreats & Wellness Spa. How we could go beyond simply buying certified organic products. We were in the process of developing 2 self sufficient farm communities & decided to expand.
CURRENT PROGRAMS, ACTIVITIES & ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Growing/Planting/Harvest classes : build solid farming skills, expands abilities, & provides them with positive community of welcoming farmers with years of experience. 15-20 a year attend classes to be a grower. Learn on the job. Produce to be focused on: Rabbits, Vegetables, Chickens, Legumes, Grains, Sprouts, Fruit, Fish, Herbs, Trees+
Business of farming classes: Mamoyo Foundation - Women & Youth Initiative: Mini Farms & Nurseries provides programs to low-income & poor residents in selected communities. As the classes is hands on, on an existing farm. The apprentice will learn with real farm tools, real issues/challenges, real crops, real customers in a real business.
Green living classes: provides youth education on living in a sustainable manner, natural organic products, renewable energy, composting, green eating/construction/energy, organic products & education on conscious production & consumption.
Life skills & business classes: work with experienced mentors who run successful lives.
Other Activities: added value to produce (e.g making tomato sauce jars) produce their own spa products from farm produce, yoga, pilates, meditation, culinary classes , hiking, camping, exchange programs with other countries, hotel/farm/restaurant/forest visits +

Mamoyo Foundation - Women & Youth Initiative: Mini Farms & Nurseries has generated in-kind donations for its projects, received gifts such as properties to use & aims to be self funding within the next 5 to 7 years by sales of farm visits, products & services. We’ll be launching a subscription model, where a customer signs up for a produce basket, prepaid.
EVALUATION
A projected 25 apprentices will be recruited to join the project. At the end of the program each one will be able to support themselves & enhance the life of their family.
